Morrissey's first novel, List of the Lost, to be published in September

Fansite True to You announces that the book will be published by Penguin

Morrissey may have had a troubled couple of years, with health issues forcing the cancellation of gigs, but as he pointed out on the Smiths’ third single, “the devil will find work for idle hands to do” – and in this case, Lucifer has had the singer writing his debut novel.

List of the Lost will be published next month, according to the Morrissey fansite True To You, which is regarded as the nearest thing the singer has to an official mouthpiece. A post on the site read:

Morrissey’s first novel, List of the Lost, will be published by Penguin Books (UK) at the end of September. The book will be issued in softcover/paperback as a New Fiction title, and comes almost two years after Morrissey’s very successful Autobiography publication of October 2013. Penguin Books will confirm an on sale date within this coming week. List of the Lost will be available in the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa.
