Dot and Anton was such a witty yet mysterious book. Its best features really grabbed me and made me turn the pages. Although I knew that it was fiction, I felt almost as if, somewhere, the story could unfold itself in to someone’s life using threads from the blurb. At first, when I was reading this marvellous book, I thought the author was someone new that I had never heard of. I didn’t realise that this is the author of The Parent Trap! This was fascinating as I love the film and am now eager to read the book!
The story is set in Berlin, the capital of Germany, and when Dot’s (a girl who adores acting and dressing up) governess (Miss Andacht) lands herself a fiancé (Robert) an exiting story plot forms. But at night Dot’s friend, Anton, is joining her and her governess in a dangerous act...
