Zoella’s bestselling novel Girl Online ‘was not written alone’

Popular vlogger Zoe Sugg’s runaway bestseller was written with help from author Siobhan Curham, publisher concedes

YouTube star Zoe Sugg has come under fire after she and her publisher acknowledged that her novel Girl Online, the fastest-selling debut novel ever, was not written alone.

Known as Zoella, Sugg, whose videos on YouTube about fashion and beauty have won her more than 5m subscribers, shot to the top of bestseller charts when her first novel Girl Online was published last month. It sold 78,109 copies in its first week on sale, the biggest first-week sale for a debut since records began, according to the Bookseller.
