Her book The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka is an original and important contribution to Australian history


A groundbreaking work of non-fiction that offers a new historical perspective on one of Australias foundation legends was on Tuesday night awarded the second ever Stella Prize for womens writing.


Clare Wrights The Forgotten Rebels of Eureka highlights the presence of women on the Ballarat goldfields and investigates their key role in the 1854 Eureka Stockade, one traditionally written as an all-male rebellion against British colonial soldiers.
