'The illustrations are charming and full of character'

We like Hugless Douglas books, having read a couple before, and this one doesn't disappoint. The illustrations are charming and full of character - our particular favourite characters are the sheep.

The story is quite short, which is understandable, but gently follows Douglas through his day, playing with friends and getting covered in Honey. We particularly liked the sheep with armbands venturing into the bath at the end, and then the list of all the different types of hugs at the very end.

A nice book, really handy to keep in a bag to take with you, and a nice introduction to Douglas too. Happy World Book Day!!
