Counting Chickens by Polly Alakija

reviewed by Ethan, aged 7

The book was about a boy called Tobi and his hen. Tobi gets by his friends. Then the hen has seven chicks. This book will be enjoyed by children aged seven who like animals. I liked it because it was funny. I give it 4/5.

Pom and Pim by Lena Landstrom

reviewed by Erica, aged 7

The book was about good and bad things that happen to somebody called Pom and a stuffed toy called Pim. Children who are learning to read and enjoy looking at pictures will enjoy this book most. I liked it because it is easy to read and has bright colourful pictures. I give it 3 stars out of five.

Watch Out for the Crocodile by Lisa Moroni and Eva Eriksson

reviewed by Thomas, aged seven

This book is about a girl who goes into the woods and finds a crocodile. Children who are 5 to 7 will like this book because they like adventures. I liked it because it was funny. I give it 5/5!

Three Cat Tales by John Staley

reviewed by Rachel

This is a book about cats. Children aged 4 to 7 would like it because of the cats. I like the cats and the pictures. Our teacher liked the tale of the vomiting cat because she had a cat like that once.

Big Little Mother by Kevin Kling

reviewed by Penelope

This book is about a little boy who has a big sister and she has a cat. Then the cat runs away and she teaches her brother what she teaches the cat. Girls and boys who are aged 5 to 7 will like this boy and the book. I think also people who like dancing and cats will like it. I really liked the pictures because they were funny and I liked them. I give it 5/5.

The Amazing Tale of Ali Pasha by Michael Foreman

reviewed by Julia, aged 10

This book was set in 1950 but was telling the story of a man who joined the royal navy around 1908 and found a turtle. I didn't enjoy it because it was slightly boring and unmemorable. I would recommend it to my friends and my sister. I give it 3/5. If I had to sum it up in one word I would say 'unmemorable'.
