Chris Matthews joked on Wednesday that the book people really want is "Killing O'Reilly."
Matthews appeared on "Colbert Report" to discuss his new book "Tip and the Gipper." "When are we going to have the book we've really been waiting for, 'Killing O'Reilly'?" Matthews joked to Stephen Colbert. The joke was met with gasps and applause.
"I'm not saying it wouldn't be a big seller," Colbert said, laughing, "But it might be a cry for help."
O'Reilly is out with his latest book and the newest installment in his "Killing series," "Killing Jesus." He and Matthews are among the numerous cable news hosts out with books this fall.
