This University Actually Misspelled 'College' On Its Diplomas

Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Ga., will issue new diplomas after screwing up the spelling on the ones the school delivered to some graduates this summer.

Fourteen summer graduates of GRU's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences received diplomas with the word "college" misspelled, the Augusta Chronicle reports.

The misspelling simply means this handful of GRU students will have a funny story to tell -- it has no bearing on their degrees. And the Chronicle reports most graduates received new, corrected diplomas by Tuesday.

The university has yet to comment on the matter despite multiple requests by The Huffington Post for an official statement from administrators.

To be fair, these were among the first diplomas bearing the Georgia Regents University name. The school adopted the new name in 2012 after the merger of Augusta State University and Georgia Health Science University. At the time, a large number of community members and students said they hated the new name.
