GRANVILLE, Ohio (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 - In “A Peck of Trouble: Mr. Teve’s Tall Tales” (published by iUniverse), Steven P. Locke’s new book of humorous stories, readers are treated to a bizarre look into one man’s admittedly warped view of the world.
Structurally, “A Peck of Trouble” is a memoir which traces Locke’s path through life chronologically. He shares glimpses into his mishaps, adolescent hazing, general confusion and undeniable follies, painting a whimsical portrait of his journey from a rambunctious adolescent to a young man prepared to tackle the world.
An excerpt from “A Peck of Trouble”:
“Like most people I wear – or have worn – many hats. At one time or another I’ve been a son, brother, football player, soldier, college student, history teacher, coach, graduate student, historian, husband, father, and fat ass. Two things I’ve never been, however, is a ‘morning person,’ or someone who even remotely enjoys winter. God only knows how I made it through Basic Training; rousted as we were at 4:30 a.m. every morning.”
Locke hopes his book brightens readers’ day. “We live in dark times,” he says. “‘A Peck of Trouble’ is an antidote to the daily grind in that it should put a smile on the reader's face. And the humor comes at the expense not of others, but of the author.”
