Kansas City, Mo. (PRWEB) January 09, 2013
Walsworth Publishing Company announced that its recently purchased Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 printing press has been delivered to the company’s Printing and Bindery facility in Marceline, Mo.
“The purchase of our newest Heidelberg press is another testimony to our commitment to meeting our customers’ needs by improving production time and raising the bar on quality,” said CEO Don O. Walsworth.
The Heidelberg XL 106 is an 8-unit perfecting press that can print in four-color, and both sides of the sheet at the same time at 18,000 sheets per hour. The press has state-of-the-art quality controls, including automatic register and a closed loop color system, and will be the first press of its kind installed in the U.S.
The XL 106 is also equipped with automatic plate changers that can change plates in 60 seconds. It is configured with a Cut Star roll sheeter, which will allow web rolls to be converted to sheets and printed on the press in-line.
The XL 106 press is now being installed and is expected to begin production later this month.
“We’re very excited about the additional production capabilities the Heidelberg XL 106 gives us,” said President Don Walsworth. “The addition of the new press is a great way to cap off our 75th anniversary year. There’s no doubt this new investment is an exciting sign of our commitment to providing our customers with the best quality and overall experience possible.”
