‘The storyline is amazing and the sense of mystery is complex and beautiful’

Listen to the Moon has become one of my favourite books. It is about the amazing and monstrous first world war.

Alfie, a kind hearted but mischievous boy and one of my favourite characters, goes out with his father one day to fish for their dinner. They both hear a strange wailing so they investigate. They go into a deep, dark cave and to their utter surprise find a young girl as cold as ice and as broken as glass. The girl starts to die, and before she faints she says one small word: ‘Lucy.’
