Desks are the subject of much debate these days – perhaps we should just abandon them and stand up, but for now, they are a fact of life for most office and home workers. Haruki Murakami has given his fans a sneak peek at his desk – and home-based office – on his website, accompanying the visual tour with descriptions of his deliciously quirky objects. Although our curiosity wasn’t completely sated (those porcelain figures in the background? That comic strip on the mousepad?
