‘A clever mix of modern and Greek mythology’

Aries is an ancient Greek ghost ram who can talk and lives in the Underworld. He wants to go back to the living world to find his golden fleece, which was stolen by Jason, who lost it. There is a competition, the prize being to go back to the living world on a chosen quest. Aries wins the competition by tricking different people into stopping each other from winning. He goes with his friend Alex, although Alex had been against Aries from entering the competition in the first place.

Their quest takes them to the modern world where they have to negotiate all sorts of monsters which have been created by an evil witch. They are helped in their search by a girl named Rose. The book is funny and it is interesting to see how they deal with all the monsters. It is a clever mix of modern and Greek mythology, although it is not always historically accurate.
