The Girls creator releases a statement regarding interpretations of parts of her book Not That Kind of Girl, as fellow writers come to her defence
Lena Dunham has released a statement in which the writer and actor/director condemns any kind of abuse under any circumstances following the claim from right-wing media in the US that she writes about sexually abusing her little sister in her new book.
The sites Truth Revolt and National Review highlighted passages from Dunhams recently released memoir Not That Kind of Girl during the last few days. The passages cited include one that describes an incident when Dunham was seven and her sister was one, where she examined her sisters vagina to discover six or seven pebbles in there, and another when she tries to persuade her sister to kiss her. Basically, anything a sexual predator might do to woo a small suburban girl, I was trying, wrote Dunham.
