A former psychiatrist has won Frances most prestigious literary prize, the Prix Goncourt, with her novel centred on the Spanish civil war.
Lydie Salvayres book Pas Pleurer (Dont Cry) saw off competition from, among other, the bestselling French author David Foenkinos, to win the coveted award.
