Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort boss movie section of Teen Choice awards

Stars of Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars clean up in both action and drama categories of the awards show that attracted over 160m votes



The Fault in Our Stars lead actors Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort were the big winners at Sunday nights Teen Choice awards, taking six prizes between them in the film categories.



Woodley won best action movie actress for dystopian sci-fi piece Divergent, and best drama actress for The Fault in Our Stars, the indie romance tearjerker which proved a surprise box office hit earlier this year. She also shared best movie chemistry and the all important best movie liplock with Elgort, who won best movie breakout star and best drama actor for his work in The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent.


Based on John Greens bestselling young adult novel of the same name, The Fault in Our Stars features Woodley and Elgort as lovers Hazel and Gus; she a cancer patient who must wheel around a portable oxygen tank, he a young man whose bone cancer has led to the amputation of a leg. Elgort told the audience: I really am glad that we were embraced by young people who were dealing with the illness and I just hope that we did it justice and my heart goes to everyone whos dealing with it, because cancer sucks.
