'I think it would have been better if there were more hints of the twists that were coming up just so that they didn't seem so random'

All her life Sasha's been looking for answers; all her life she's wanted to know who murdered her father. When a mysterious yet seemingly innocent cult called the Ravens tell her that their leader Eryx can give her what she wants, Sasha can't help but go. She had no idea just what she was getting herself into.

She is Anabo. Pure, without temptation, and the only one who can love a Son of Hell and gain him a chance at redemption. But will she be able to give her heart to Jax, despite the consequences and how drastically her life will change? And can Jax even begin to win her heart when he himself is doomed to battling an evil within him for the rest of his life?

There are several positives about this book but a few negatives when it comes down to the actual plot. I found the storyline a bit predictable in some areas, although there are a few surprises too; it was as if the writer had done as much as she could to twist the plot in order to ensure a CERTAIN ending happened – writing a critique of this is hard since I can't tell you the ending.

Nonetheless it was told in a refreshing voice and the cross narrative of Sasha and Jax made it that much more intriguing, allowing you to see the views of both major characters.

I liked how Sasha, unlike some heroines (I won't mention any names for certain die-hard fans) actually had some backbone and rather than giving up life as she knew it straight away no question just because she found "the one" she actually was reluctant, thought well and hard about her decision and thought about others as well as her self.

Jax and his brothers were humurous characters and Trinity Faegan did well in making me hate Brett; Sasha's cousin who pledged his soul to Eryx, and the twists in the story were shocking ones. However, I think it would have been better if there were more hints of the twists that were coming up just so that they didn't seem so random.

Overall, it was a gripping book and made such easy reading that I found myself reading huge chunks of it every night. Besides a few little annoying faults in the structure and plot The Mephisto Covenant was a worthwhile read.
