Well if this ain't a sign of the times. Yesterday, Oxford Dictionaries named selfie their Word of the Year for 2013, defining it as "a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website."
Variations of the word include welfie (a selfie taken while working out) and drelfie (a drunk selfie). Here, we'd like to commemorate a few types of trelfies -- those special, ultra-Instagrammable travel selfies you can only take at an esteemed historic site.
Type 1: The Eiffel Towfie
Type 2: The Piselfie
Type 3: The Versaillfie
Type 4: The Stonehengfie
Type 5: The Statue of Libertelfie
Type 6: The Colosselfie
Type 7: The Gizelfie
Type 8: The Taj Mahalfie
