Finally, Unlimited E-Books

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 | 6:37 PM

Some people read two books a year--most certainly on a beach and most likely while nursing a watered-down Malibu Breeze.

You are not one of those people.

For us speedy, voracious readers, there's a new subscription service that actually makes a lot of sense. It's called Oyster, and it's basically like Netflix for e-books.

For a monthly fee of $10, users can download unlimited books from Oyster's library of more than 100,000 titles. You can read up to 10 books offline at a time, and the app's layout is both intuitive and attractive.

The selection is pretty diverse too--everything from Just Kids to Water for Elephants to Lauren Conrad's horrendously bad go at fiction. While you probably won't find much that's crazy-new--it takes a few months to secure publication rights--you'll still find plenty to wet your literary whistle. (Oh, hello, complete William Styron collection.)

For the time being, Oyster is available only for iOS. That said, if you are an iPhone or iPad user who's inclined to read more than one book a month, getting the app is definitely a money-saving endeavor.

Not sure what to read next? Check out PureWow's list of Literary Doppelgangers. (Hint: If you liked Gone Girl, you'll LOVE The Dinner.)
