FRAMINGHAM — Lynne Damianos is an entrepreneur's entrepreneur.
She started her photography business, Damianos Photography, in the 10th grade. She also made and sold rope bracelets during high school. This year, she decided to start her own publishing company. Called, appropriately enough, Damianos Publishing, it operates in Framingham's Bancroft Building at 59 Fountain St. Technically, this marks her second foray into publishing. With a friend, she published a newspaper with the help of a mimeograph machine in the 5th grade. This latest publishing concern has a larger target audience. It also focuses on books.
The Framingham resident recently discussed Damianos Publishing with Daily News staff writer Bob Tremblay
QUESTION: Why was the business started?
ANSWER: After publishing two of my own books, I learned how many pitfalls there are and how to avoid them. I love project managing, and am very organized, so I thought I could help others by giving them an easier way to publish their own books without the many rules that the big publishers have (like holding rights). I also thought it would be a great way to diversify my photography business to help round out the ups and downs during the business year.
